The Neighsayers - L’arc De Triomphe Preview

Bonjour, arguably the most famous flat race in the world is ran this weekend and @ElliotWhite5 has done the honours of a runner by runner breakdown. Here’s what he’s got to say; Arc Runner by Runner Sisfahan-Henk Grewe Ironically for a German bred horse I don’t think this lad wants a bog, his best form has been shown on better ground (Beaten 3 lengths by last years winner Alpinista). Although this years ground could suit him he is massively outclassed and rightfully around the rag of the field. Haya Zark-Adrien Fouassier Another that will be challenging to be outsider of the field, no chance. Onesto-Fabrice Chappet Showed a lot of promise last season as a 3 year winning the Grand Prix de Paris before coming second in the Irish Champion. Although this form didn’t work out brilliant he did catch the eye on seasonal reappearance this year over a trip short of his best but this would take a big step up even on his best form. He could run better than his odds of 50/1 suggest but he wouldn’t...

The Neighsayers - Two for Tuesday

Two For Tuesday    2:25 Lingfield – 5f Nursery   Open nursery on paper but there Is a horse in here whose track performance impressed more than she did in the paddock.  BOANN  put her rivals to the sword on her 3 rd  start of her career at Southwell, what was a very good performance as she was miles better than anything in that race, what on paper looked decent enough. She looked to improve for the synthetic surface and the aid of the toungestrap, giving me hope she can back up here under similar conditions.    As mentioned earlier, she didn’t impress me in the paddock, mentally she looked to have slightly lost her head in the prelims, sweated up, veins popping out, and on her toes early. This didn’t affect her performance though, what is a good thing, and she may just be a buzzy type who just wants to get on the track and run. She has been allocated a mark of 78, what I feel is more than workable in a race of this nature. She showed plenty of spe...

The Neighsayers - Weekly Eye-Catchers 18th - 24th September 2023

Weekly Eye-Catcher’s 18 th  – September 2023   18 th  September – 6:00 Kempton    Vultar   Ran well from impossible position, travelled well in rear but was given far too much to do, stayed on well late, shaping like a step back up in trip would suit. His debut form is working out very well, and I’ll be looking to follow him into handicaps off marks in the 80s. 7f+ looks more his bag.   19 th  September – 3:00 Redcar   Garifullina    Nice run here over a trip what may have been on the sharp side, draw was against her from the start, had to track across forfeiting ground. Ran on strongly once in the clear. I’ll look to back her over 6f with abit of cut in the ground.                                              ...

The Neighsayers - Ayr Gold Cup Weekend

A competitive days racing with some trappy handicaps and we’ve tried our best to tackle them. Let’s hope we have a successful day and you do if you’re following. Here we go… 2:25 Ayr Silver Cup – 6f Handicap    Best handicaps of the year in my opinion, and it would be rude not to have a good stab at the race with the extra places on offer. My bet here comes in the form of the Jane Chapple-Hyam trained APLOMB , who has been ridiculously Eye-Catching in his 2 previous starts and looks primed for a big pot.    Had an interrupted campaign of recently having decent size breaks in-between, but in his last 2 runs he showed his old spark and arguably should have won both races if he was given better rides. Held up in rear, always finding trouble and flying home late, jockey error in my opinion as he could have plotted an easier passage in both runs. By hook or by crook, APLOMB has found himself in here 7lb lower than his last winning mark, and 8lb lower when finishing 6 th ...

The Neighsayers - 21st September

After a few quiet days recovering from the Leger week, we’re back in action for Thursday’s racing and hopefully continue the form we’ve been in. We’ve got 4 selections we think should run well and with justification too. Let’s get it into it… 2:25 - Ayr 5f Handicap   Very competitive stuff here so this will be a small bet, but it was very hard to ignore the Tim Easterby trained TRIPLE JAYE on her return back to Ayr. She must love the Scottish air or maybe the Haggis as she is 2 from 3 when running at Scottish tracks, including when winning this race last year off a 7lb higher mark.    This screams out as a well prepped plan coming back for the race she won last year, and I feel she is in finer fettle than the form book suggests. Her Nottingham run was on GS ground, and she handled it very well in my opinion, but anything softer could be a slight concern. I feel if she runs, she will be going close.   Selection – Triple Jaye EW 5pl (365 16/1 , 14/1 Paddy Power/Betfai...

The Neighsayers - Weekly Eye-Catchers 10th - 17th September 2023

Weekly Eye-Catchers 10 th  – 17 th  September 2023   13 th  September – 7:00 Kempton    Salamanca City    Big Eye-Catcher in my book, slow away, held up in rear, moved well for jockey, asked for effort very late (more than likely riding to instructions), moved past horses nicely under hand riding, running on very late for a 4 th . Good run from her race position, clocking nice closing sectionals in the process. Nice horse in my opinion, really like her as a type and will look to follow her throughout her career. A maiden should be a formality NTO.   15 th  September – 2:05    Staincliff   Very nice debut when sent off massive price in good enough maiden, travelled nicely on the bridle, had to wait for run, made effort but was very green when responding to jockey urgings. Pulled miles clear of the 3 rd  so I would say the front two are above average. Very nice sprint pedigree and should be hard to beat in maidens nto. ...

The Neighsayers - 3 for Friday.

Thanks for the outstanding support this week, the numbers have been phenomenal and the results haven’t been to bad neither. Here’s 3 for Friday given to you by @lukeblack85 13:50 Gushing Gold 11/1 EW Gushing Gold has been a relatively slow burner since her promising debut 2nd at Leicester in May. Her run at Royal Ascot subsequently confirmed her earlier spark of talent however finishing a very respectable 9th of 17 in the Queen Mary. Despite then being narrowly beaten in 2 Novice events at Newbury and Kempton, She finally shed her Maiden tag in a Nursery at York. This form stacks up seriously well, with the 2nd Lexington Belle sluicing up next time out, the 3rd Inishfallen being a gallant 2nd in a Group 3, the 4th Dark Encounter also winning on his next start and the 5th Soldier’s Gold running a huge race to come 4th in the valuable sales race yesterday. I was mightily impressed with how generous she was under pressure at York, running through the line and winning, in my opinion, much...

The Neighsayers - Thursday at Donny

1:15 Doncaster – 6f Apprentice Handicap 3yo+   Nice field to kick off the St Leger festival, and there is one in here what I do like to bounce back to form.  JUMP THE GUN  found himself between a rock and a hard place from the start of the season, after improving 15+ for the aid of the cheekpieces. Throughout the year he hasn’t shown his usual zest on the bridle and looked slightly sick of the game in spells. But it does spring to my attention that he has the aid of the first-time blinkers, what if having the effect like the cheekpieces last year, he could bounce back to form in a big way.    Even though I feel he is better on quick turf, The soft ground isn’t a problem and he will go on it perfectly fine. The shrewd Jardine has managed to drop him 9lb in his last 2 runs, what were complete float ups, getting him in here off a more than workable mark. Jardine has rushed for the services of young William Pyle, a jockey who has impressed me and clearly his trainer...

The Neighsayers - Racing League Week 6

The racing league train rolls into Southwell for the 6th and final week of this year's series and what a series it's been for us. We've turned a profit in each of the 5 weeks so far and hoping to make it a clean sweep here and put some money in the pocket's for the Leger meeting. 5:45 - 7f 14y Nursery  I think that London and The South hold the card's here with can definitely see why Crimson Spirit has been put in as favourite but it's their other runner, COMMANDER CROUCH  who takes the eye. He had no chance of winning at Haydock last time out conceding first run to a very well handicapped horse due to traffic problems but the way come over the rest of the field to finish 2nd left the impression on me that a mark of 75 might have a bit of mileage in it yet. He's a fairly consistent horse too and even when down the field I feel like he's had excuses, at Chester he was bumped early and lost his position and the 7th at Windsor would put him close here. I ma...

The Neighsayers - Antepost Angle

Thanks to all the existing followers for all our recent support and welcome to all our new ones, it’s been a very good month so far and we hope to take it into our local meeting, The Leger Festival. Here’s 4 Antepost bets ahead of the week that we like, in a very limited pool of races. Let’s get into it. 1:50 Doncaster (Thursday) – 6 ½f Nursery    Valuable Nursery on the first day of the St Leger festival, obviously attracts a nice enough field with the 25k looking rather appealing for connections. Plenty of inform filly’s in here but many have multiple entry’s, potentially leading to some of the market principles going elsewhere. The one for me in here now is the George Margeson trained JUMEIRAH BREEZ E, after she went into many people’s notebooks after a fast-finishing 2 nd  behind the progressive Seven Questions.   She has shown quiet a lot of ability on most of her starts, her debut was a nice education for her over the C&D she will be running over on Thursda...
