The Neighsayers - Boxing Day Bets

The Neighsayers  -  Boxing Day Bets 12:15 Sedgefield – 2m4f Handicap Hurdle  (Quinny)   Weak contest here in my opinion, and I think the market has this right with the fav, but I think he should be miles shorter than his current price of 5/2. IMPERIAL MEASURE has been a model of consistency since going handicapping, including a win off a mark of 83. He ran on the 10 th  of November at Exeter, in a race what couldn’t be working out better, with the 1 st  2 nd  4 th  7 th  and 8 th  all winning their respective races NTO. I MPERIAL MEASURE didn’t win his next race, but he did run very well from a very unpromising track position, staying on late into 2 nd  after the runaway winner had first run (who has gone on to win again)   IMPERIAL MEASURE has been put up 3 for that run-in defeat, buy I do think that is fair with how the form is working out. Evan Williams has put his talented daughter on instead of Wedge, what allows her to ...

The Neighsayers - Floodlit Friday Week 9

Floodlit Friday Week 9 4:20 Southwell – 1m handicap    Competitive stuff here but I thought there was a standout bet at the current prices in the form of PERFECT SWISS . Hes been in good form all year without getting his head Infront, showing that hes still a horse what's still in love with the game.   He was in great form in this race last year, where he did beat the very progressive horse Zealot, who was running off a mark of 59 at the time. That run alone over this C&D would give him standout credentials here and yes that was a year ago, but trainers are creature of habit, and this race must have been on the agenda.   He runs today off a mark of 62, what is a very workable mark for a horse of this nature. His strong travelling tendency’s will allow him to cruise unto the race, and hopefully with a clear passage he can win this race for the 2 nd  time in a row.   Selection – Perfect Swiss 12/1 EW (12s paddy 3pl, 11s Sky 4pl, 9s 365)   7:15 Wolver...

The Neighsayers - Weekly Eye-Catchers 11th - 17th December 2023

Weekly Eye-Catcher’s 11 th  – 17th December 2023   12 th  December – 1:00 Punchestown    Littlebiggie    Set decent fractions Infront, jumping progressively got better and was there out in front for a long way. Would like to see this one being dropped to the bare 2m. think hes got a good level of ability.    12 th  December – 6:00 Southwell    Danielle    Won’t have been missed due to the madly impressive winner. Danielle had to come from last, over an inadequate trip on debut, was one of the first off, the bridle but picked up very well late to press for 2 nd . I would recommend backing her once she goes up in trip, 1m2f would be more suitable. May be put away for next year.   13 th  December – 1:20 Exeter   Sammy’s Guarantee    Tanked out the back for a mark, ran up the back of horses to stop progress into the races. Will hopefully get a mark now, Id say anything less than 100 would b...

The Neighsayers - Floodlit Friday Week 8

6:30 Southwell - 2m Handicap First time trying 2 miles on the flat here for PLEASANT MAN but there’s every indication that trip won’t be a problem. Freshened up after a big run in the rearranged November Handicap which was also his first run on the AW. This race represents a big class drop, 0-85 rather than 0-100 but is still a a decent pot for a non Saturday meeting. Jack Jones has endured very big successes this season and is a trainer to keep an eye on. Should get a nice set up here with 3 likely front runners, Oceanline, Mostly Sunny and Cool Party. I expect to see him off the bridle early under this big weight but I see him as a strong stayer and the solid pace to aim at should help that massively. Unexposed on the AW and not a lot to go on in the family I’m having to leave it to chance that he can improve again here but he left every impression he would do. Selection - Pleasant Man EW (6/1 WH, 11/2 General) 8:00 Southwell – 7f Handicap   A very competitive handicap here, and ...

The Neighsayers - Weekly Eye-catchers 4th-10th December 2023

Weekly Eye-Catcher’s 4th – 10th December 2023   4 th  December – 6:00 Wolverhampton    Pierrefonds    Slowly away, tanked out the back in look for a mark. May need another 2 more runs for a mark but I can see this being a big improver when going into handicaps and when stepping up in trip. Not missed by the stewards unfortunately.   6 th  December – 5:30 Kempton    Sardinian Warrior    Massive Eye-Catcher here and won’t be missed by the public. Slowly away, held up miles off the pace, asked for effort but had loads to do from position. Ran on very strongly, picked up past horses very easily and ran on very strongly for 2 nd . Huge run and a maiden should be a formality nto.   7 th  December – 7:00 Chelmsford   H Key Lails    Unlucky in the run here. Drop un trip looked to suit, tanked through the race, had to wait for gaps in the straight and had the door shut on him twice when making a run. Should...

The Neighsayers - Floodlit Friday Week 7

5:15 Newcastle - 7f Handicap I'm taken by the chances of SIBYL CHARM in this, he's had a few float ups for Jardine now including an eye catching one last night. However it was an amateur race, so whether that was by design I don't know, but he was asked for nothing. Lightly raced still with only 7 career starts she should be able to improve past some of these if on a going day, or a trying one.  On paper this looks like it could be run at a ferocious pace with Power of Darkness a keen goer, Magical Max will try to make all along with Alethiometer, Jahadin and Leap Day. This could set the race up nicely if we track those through and rate this horse a solid each way bet. Selection - Sibyl Charm EW (7/1 4pl Skybet, 7/1 3pl Betfair/Paddy, 6/1 Bet365 4pl) 6:15 Newcastle – 5f Novice    Open enough novice with plenty in here what are useful prospects for the future. The money for the Cunha horse overnight is interesting but it has now taken up a large chunk of the market and giv...
