The Neighsayers - The Week Ahead Week 29 (+5)
Feels good to be back, result's might make that short lived but we'll give it ago anyway. Will get caught up with the figures and get them in the end of week review but for now let's get back into the racing...
Tuesday
14:45 Lingfield - Alhain
Quite surprised this is as big as it is currently. The case is now there to say she's an all weather horse, her runs at Lingfield in the listed spring cup and at Kempton in a conditions race give her every right to be favourite in this race. She'll want to be handy and there looks little pressure in this apart from Purefoy who is a danger also returning to the all weather. However, Alhain is the bet here for me and the current 9/2 is generous.
Wednesday
16:15 Beverley - Orbaan
Looked set to run a big race in the shergar cup but was first reserve so never got a run. He'll undoubtedly want to run in the Clipper handicap next week at York but he's probably right on the cusp of the weights at the minute, so a win here would surely see him in. FWIW, I wish they'd run Havana Blue over 6 furlongs, a tracker note since October '22...
Thursday
16:10 Salisbury - Hope Rising
Will definitely be checking this one before hand but looks as if it's been running over too far, which there's every chance this is the case from this outfit. Has shown pace early so the mile should be fine, 1/2 sister to connections Mr Mistoffelees who won over a mile too. They do have the option of Epsom on Friday though.
Friday
13:40 Epsom - Havana Dance
Improving run by run and looks as if can win off 70. Dam won over 7. Concern would obviously be Epsom but that's the nature of the beast. Plenty of these have won poor races where as this filly ran okay in good races and can go on now stepping up.
19:40 Thirsk - Smart Hero
Fairly obvious one here but likely to get his head in front on faster ground than faced at Sandown. Beat at 1.02 in the run there but travelled lovely before being bogged down. Unchanged mark and 2nd start off the wind op. Rate's a good bet, stronger is Thursday's Child not declared.
Saturday
Have no real interest looking through Saturday cards this far out.
Sunday
15:20 Southwell - Party Bear
Real interesting one this. Stank the market out on debut with stable mate ending up winning. Has come on steadily since then, 2nd start he was probably beaten by the soft ground and two horses ridden more prominently where that style of racing favours Ripon. Similar when stepped up in trip on 3rd run. Expect to see this one step forward now.
