9th July – 8:05 Uttoxeter 

 

Silver Pageant 

 

Irish raiders 2nd trip over to the UK and the ground has changed since decs on both starts. I think this will be seen to much better effect on good ground and she hasn’t been seen to best effect as of yet. She was held up last in a desperately slow run race, was impossible for her to come off the pace. She can do much better than this and she should be backed in bumpers/maiden hurdles on better ground.

 

10th July – 7:30 Fairyhouse 

 

Emporio 

 

Very good run after a year off the track. Travelled strongly and was coming with a winning run when he had the door shut on him, finished on the bridle. His problems have hopefully been sorted and he should be followed over 7-8f this year.

 

11th July – 5:10 Leopardstown 

 

Tofino 

 

Steadied start, never put in the race. Moderate headway under hand riding. Will be better nto and will be a bet once going up in trip if the maiden isn’t super-hot. Weary that he may be being prepped with 3yo handicaps in mind.

The Neighsayers - Friday 13th September

  No blog yesterday for the first day of the Leger meeting, mainly due to uncertainty around the ground we were getting. We’re back for day 2 though. 15:00 Doncaster - Big Mojo A lot to like about this horses chance today, starting with the drop back to minimum trip, showed his usual pace at York but failed to stay. Looks to be plenty of pace on in here too with Aesterius drawn on his side and then King’s Call, Zayer and Tropical Storm over the other side. If he sit’s just off these and strikes late he should emulate last year’s success for connections with Big Evs. A somewhat shock winner at Goodwood but should that was no fluke when running a good race at York when not staying as I’ve mentioned.  Selection - Big Mojo 5/2 General - 1pt win 16:10 Doncaster - Beatrice Shilling This favourite, Cabrera has to be taken on for me. The Neighsayers - Thursday 5th September

 Nice to get on the board for September yesterday with Snow Berry winning at 15/2 (or 9/1 if you had the luxury), but with the 2pt bet going down it wasn't as good as we'd hoped for, but profit on the day nevertheless. 17:35 Lingfield - Ormolulu Think this is well worth an each way bet now seeing 7 furlongs for the first time and returning to the all-weather. Dropped down in the handicap considerably this year, beginning on 79 and comes here off 70 with the jockey claiming 3. This is the lowest grade of race she's ever contested too, being a 51-70 and now in a fillies only race that can only be a positive too. The favourite takes up a lot of the market here and he's not guaranteed to get his own way in front this time, with Twilight Dancer and Beveragino in the race and I think he's well worth taking on. She was keen in her 3 year old campaign but the hood seemed to have worked the oracle there and hopefully can continue to do so with the slower tempo of a 6 furlong...
