The Neighsayers - The Week Ahead Week 25
Last week a blur, 3 winners from the 5 in the weekend but ended bet 3 of them and missed 2 of the winners, but at 11/8 and 8/15 it is what it is. Not too fussed out chasing to satisfy the figures to finish positive on the week. Too much pace on for one and the price just to short the other.
Busy week this week though with up to 9 runners possible and in honesty could've been 19. Hopefully picked the right ones.
A quick note back to last week, thanks for reading the reviews, previews and anything else we posted, every click worth it and makes what we do worth it. Finally over the Royal Ascot brain fog so let's get stuck into it.
Wednesday
19:10 Kempton - Mr Mistoffelees
Big field and big price but very good claims here in my eyes. For a big field there looks very little pace on, apart from this lad. Stall 11 shouldn’t be a problem in the circumstances. Loves to get out in front and keep going, first time visor should aid this even more. Highland Spring could the pace pressure but after last time think he’ll be ridden to get the trip and finish his race. This horses best performances has come over this C&D and looks as if he could winning again.
19:20 Ffos Las - Silent Flame
Well handicapped operating now off 13lb lower than last winning mark. Showed very little in the first 2 starts of 2024 but last 2 starts have been much better. Drops down into class 6 company on the back of her recent runs and this looks a very good opportunity to get back in front. Shouldn’t be too far off the pace.
Thursday
20:30 Leicester - Magnificent Match
Did well to win over a mile at Yarmouth 5 runs ago. Bumped into one after that and then ran okay again on heavy ground after that. The last 2 runs he’s been tried over 10 furlongs and doesn’t seem to stay, although excuses. Back down to a mile should see a much better showing and should go close.
Friday
13:35 Doncaster - Minnesota Lad
Should get lightning fast ground here which should suit being a Sioux Nation. Will be held up in rear which is the place to be at Donny, hopefully smuggled into the race and finished fast and late.
15:30 Yarmouth - Four Adaay
Massive return to form last time when overcoming the Nottingham front end bias. Split two prominent runners to finish 2nd, drops from a 75 into a 70 here and looks to have every chance.
Saturday
16:25 Windsor - Havana Pusey
Better come back I thought than finishing position suggests. Showed last year she has ability and can win off 78. Draw key here though so will see what happens.
16:50 Newcastle - Sea Legend
Made a mockery of his mark on his UK debut and 6lb didn’t look as if it would stop him. Typical Saturday racing though so need to what’s declared against him.
Sunday
16:30 Wolverhampton - Valkyrian
Ran in competitive races since coming back this year and has tumbled down the weights subsequently. Last time was particularly eye-catching, not only was she in rear at Chelmsford but also wide, never really had a chance. Should return to form here.
Monday
17:45 Windsor - Law or Average
Outclassed in the Dash but wasn’t disgraced. All speed and if he gets an inside draw, should be hard to shop.
