The Neighsayers - Day 3 Preview
Tough day yesterday all in all, but no complaints about the horses that won, they were the best horses and thoughts with Quinny with his Holloway Boy selection, that was the real unlucky one on the day.
2:30
LQ: Very good race and I couldn’t be confident on anything in this. I’m watching for future.
LD: Similar to Quinny, nothing too strong. Like Loom at as a horse but think a few of these could be better than him. No bet.
3:05
LQ: Was very impressed with Gilded Water at Chepstow, did it really well and shaped asif the strip up to 1m4 would suit. He is a half to very good stayer Circle of Fire and this should be a good test to see where he’s at ability wise.
LD: Really like Poniros, made a big move in a short space of time at Newbury and hit the front much too soon. No problems with the step up in trip here. I’ll be getting involved each way.
Brief mention that Swanny’s horse to follow WARDA JAMILA goes in this race, can we find the winner again? After finding it with one of Blackie’s last year, would be some task though.
3:45
LQ: The fav comes in here with standout credentials after her Listed win at Newbury. That form is solid and she should take the beating here.
LD: Would be disappointed if one of Diamond Rain or Kalpana didn’t win this. The former probably a more solid selection but I really liked Kalpan’s 2nd at Newmarket, she was beat by good one that day and they both looked proper visually. The winner didn’t give her running at York at all. Diamond Rain the most solid fav on the day though I think.

Kyprios is drifting out to a realistic price now but he hasn’t impressed me at all this year and I’ll want to take him on. Coltrane is a proven stayer and looks a standout EW bet. Plenty in here have massive chinks in their armour and he has the least of them.
LD: Agree with everything Quinny has said there, would throw Trawlerman into the mix too. They’re the 3 I’d want to see in the finish. Would bet Kyprios at current price of 11/8. Any bigger a bonus.
5:05
LQ: No bet couldn’t find an angle in.
LD: I’ve bet 2 here. Really really like Skukuza as a horse, behind Volterra but thought he had the run of the race there, next time out winner when not everything going right. Could outrun his odds. Have also played King’s Gamble here, was in the commonwealth cup until this week but he shaped as if the mile would be right up his street on reappearance, first run since August. Should’ve put him spot on for this and he might not be as well handicapped as others, but he’s probably the best horse in here. Can’t refuse 25/1 to find out, each way.
5:40
LQ: Was really impressed with Kings Gambit in the London Gold Cup, he looked every inch a group horse and he should take the beating here. Price is about right.
LD: King’s Gambit the right favourite, priced tight at the top of the market, one for the multiples if that’s your thing. Thought Bracken’s Laugh well worth his chance here after Chester, thought he was the best of them until he hung in behind Capulet. Also a mention for Sons and Lovers, really like him as a type, shaped as if he wanted this trip even on debut over 7 furlongs. Definitely think he has that improvement in him to figure at 20+.
6:15
LQ: No bet just enjoy it.
LD: Have always thought English Oak was a group horse but he could find the ground here a bit lively. For me, Fresh has no excuses here, drawn around the right horses to take him into the race, loves Ascot, each way 6 places should be safe.
