20th May – 5:40 Windsor

Nice run here and won’t have gone unmissed. Travelling well out the back when no clear run on rail, got gaps late and did nice back end work under tender handling (1 tap). +2.23% over the race finishing time and will have learnt plenty in the process. This should be winning a maiden next time out, showed speed and gears. Lovely debut 

 

24th May – 5:15 Curragh

Broke well, should have made it but was restraint into midfield, travelled powerfully behind horses and didn’t have much room to challenge, got gap late and run on very well under tender handling. Can back this up, shown enough ability to win a maiden at a lesser track nto 

 

25th May – 1:55 Curragh 

 

Local Lad 

 

Talk aboit being pitched in the deep end on debut. Slightly slow into stride, didn’t pick up the bit and raced slightly green. Outpaced but the further he went the better he travelled. Asked to go and progress through the race but hung right behind horses, was corrected but still wanted to hang. Ran on late and was much straighter with a few taps, great debut and ill look to follow over 7f+ this year.

 

25th May – 2:10 York 

 

Stratusnine 

 

Really good debut. Outpaced and green early, didn’t have a clue what was going on. Picked up the bridle for a good 1.5f and travelled well, asked to go under hand riding and took off. Nearly ran down the winner who had racecourse experience. This was a very nice introduction and can win a maiden nto and progress. I hope they don’t turn him out quickly, will need 3 weeks+

The Neighsayers - Friday 13th September

  No blog yesterday for the first day of the Leger meeting, mainly due to uncertainty around the ground we were getting. We’re back for day 2 though. 15:00 Doncaster - Big Mojo A lot to like about this horses chance today, starting with the drop back to minimum trip, showed his usual pace at York but failed to stay. Looks to be plenty of pace on in here too with Aesterius drawn on his side and then King’s Call, Zayer and Tropical Storm over the other side. If he sit’s just off these and strikes late he should emulate last year’s success for connections with Big Evs. A somewhat shock winner at Goodwood but should that was no fluke when running a good race at York when not staying as I’ve mentioned.  Selection - Big Mojo 5/2 General - 1pt win 16:10 Doncaster - Beatrice Shilling This favourite, Cabrera has to be taken on for me.  Nice to get on the board for September yesterday with Snow Berry winning at 15/2 (or 9/1 if you had the luxury), but with the 2pt bet going down it wasn't as good as we'd hoped for, but profit on the day nevertheless. 17:35 Lingfield - Ormolulu Think this is well worth an each way bet now seeing 7 furlongs for the first time and returning to the all-weather. Dropped down in the handicap considerably this year, beginning on 79 and comes here off 70 with the jockey claiming 3. This is the lowest grade of race she's ever contested too, being a 51-70 and now in a fillies only race that can only be a positive too. The favourite takes up a lot of the market here and he's not guaranteed to get his own way in front this time, with Twilight Dancer and Beveragino in the race and I think he's well worth taking on. She was keen in her 3 year old campaign but the hood seemed to have worked the oracle there and hopefully can continue to do so with the slower tempo of a 6 furlong...
