14:50 Lingfield - Sassy Redhead


Won impressively the last day, drawn widest and traveled wide through out, she gave away plenty of ground and still managed to get home infront, being 2L ahead of the 3rd too. 4lb for that is generous I’d say and a better draw here should so her go well.


20:30 Kempton - Mostly Sunny


Plenty of form in the book for this this one and at a much higher level than this. In a few class 2 handicaps over the summer. Stays the trip well and should be in the frame here. Big weight but not against that on these staying types.


Thursday 


15:55 Southwell - Hiatus


Majorly eye-catching last time when short of room several times at Kempton, unchanged for that too in where he was beaten less than a length. The winner that day is in here too but shouldn’t get his own way front.


Friday 


19:15 Wolves - Exalted Angel


Still capable at a high level, 3rd at listed level just 3 starts back. A danger here at a track that should suit better.


Saturday


14:05 Doncaster - Ashroe Diamond


Very sweet on the chances of Ashroe Diamond here. Lossiemouth and Gala marceau also entered for Willie but couldn’t see all 3 turning up.


This has been earmarked for AD from a long way out, will also get her preferred good ground here would still be with her even if all 3 turned up. Currently priced 11/8, would want 9/4, 2/1 to play Antepost.


18:30 Kempton - Cloud Cover


Couldn’t not include her again. Won with any amount in hand yesterday when doing plenty wrong. Bigger field should iron out them issues and we could see an even better run.


20:45 GulfStream - Warm Heart 


Warm Heart will take all the beating in this for me, she was unlucky to be chinned late on at the breeders cup by inspiral but should be beating this field getting weight. The drawing 9 could’ve been kinder but think she’ll prove too good and the 7/4 NRNB with hills is definitely worth taking.


Sunday


13:25 Doncaster - Some Scope


Think this is nicely handicapped and if it do get the good ground forecasted at Donny this weekend, he’s a live player. Looking at those Jocked up currently, there’s likely a few to go forward and that will suit this horse able to travel into it nicely. Made a race ending mistake on chase debut but much improved last time.


Monday


20:00 Wolves - Bradman


Won a modest race nicely enough last time, looks another weak renewal again even if all declared.

The Neighsayers - Friday 13th September

  No blog yesterday for the first day of the Leger meeting, mainly due to uncertainty around the ground we were getting. We’re back for day 2 though. 15:00 Doncaster - Big Mojo A lot to like about this horses chance today, starting with the drop back to minimum trip, showed his usual pace at York but failed to stay. Looks to be plenty of pace on in here too with Aesterius drawn on his side and then King’s Call, Zayer and Tropical Storm over the other side. If he sit’s just off these and strikes late he should emulate last year’s success for connections with Big Evs. A somewhat shock winner at Goodwood but should that was no fluke when running a good race at York when not staying as I’ve mentioned.  Selection - Big Mojo 5/2 General - 1pt win 16:10 Doncaster - Beatrice Shilling This favourite, Cabrera has to be taken on for me.  Nice to get on the board for September yesterday with Snow Berry winning at 15/2 (or 9/1 if you had the luxury), but with the 2pt bet going down it wasn't as good as we'd hoped for, but profit on the day nevertheless. 17:35 Lingfield - Ormolulu Think this is well worth an each way bet now seeing 7 furlongs for the first time and returning to the all-weather. Dropped down in the handicap considerably this year, beginning on 79 and comes here off 70 with the jockey claiming 3. This is the lowest grade of race she's ever contested too, being a 51-70 and now in a fillies only race that can only be a positive too. The favourite takes up a lot of the market here and he's not guaranteed to get his own way in front this time, with Twilight Dancer and Beveragino in the race and I think he's well worth taking on. She was keen in her 3 year old campaign but the hood seemed to have worked the oracle there and hopefully can continue to do so with the slower tempo of a 6 furlong...
