The Neighsayers - Floodlit Friday Week 11
Well, round two of writing this out having lost the blog as it didn't save. So here goes... Slim pickings in regards to races available to us with only Wolves on in the UK and Dundalk in Ireland, but that wasn't much of a proposition on Friday.
Wolverhampton - 17:00 - 7F Handicap
Thought PESSOA won generously enough last time irrespective of the winning margin and only a 2lb rise should see him go in again. Had a lovely race set up that day coming off a good pace and tomorrow's set up should suit further.
As many as 6 runners who may want to lead in this race, with The Toff, Bishop's Glory, Ishani, Dors Toyboy and Ravenglass raced from the front before and Pride of Spain has been keen in the past, that doesn't look like it'll change here with the jockey booking.
Finley Marsh has been on board for both wins in professional rider races, so he'll know the horse well and should be able to deliver it in front again.
Selection - Pessoa (100/30 bet365, 11/4 General)
Wolverhampton - 20:00 - 1M 1F Handicap
RING OF GOLD looks ready to strike and this seems a decent opportunity to do so. Cephalus in the race is obviously high on the shortlist of dangers, but I think he could take a large proportion of the market up and hopefully some value against.
The horse is 0-10 on the turf but 3-16 on the AW, including 7 more placed efforts including several decent runs off marks in the 70's early in 2023 before transferring to turf for the summer where he didn't disgrace himself but he holds much higher chances back here.
Had a pipe opener after a short break at Chelmsford last month under a claimer and as you'll have heard us say plenty it's just too hard to come from off the pace there, where as Wolves it's a much more viable route to winning. There's a few keen goers in here and a couple who wanna lead, so hopefully a mid division position should lead to us going fairly close.
The booking of Joanna Mason back can't be anything but a positive, winning twice on him already.
Selection - Ring of Gold (5/1 Betfair, Paddy, 4/1 Sky Bet, 7/2 Bet365)
