Weekly Eye-Catchers 6th – 12th Nov 2023
6th November – 2:00 Kempton
Throubi
Nice introduction back to racing after a year off the track. Put to sleep out the back in the first time hood, tanked into the race and moved past horses nicely when asked, too far back to ever make a proper effort. Nice float up for a mark and winter campaign, id be keen to follow her providing her mark is lower than 77ish. Loads of untapped potential
8th November – 4:30 Kempton
Breakwater
Nice pedigree, related to some nice types. Ran like one on debut, travelled nicely but wide. Came swinging into the straight but was green under pressure. Will have learnt a load from that and should be a nice bet nto in maidens.
9th November – 5:30 Chelmsford
Tennessee Gold
Tanked out the back for a mark, moved well enough in jockey’s hands but was on a tight rein from pillar to post. Showed coltish tendency’s pre and mid race, will improve for a gelding operation. Follow into handicaps, may be put away till next year.
9th November – 8:00 Chelmsford
Marisitta
Gambled on but their money was left at the gates, tardy start and was always against it from the track position. Travelled okay in rear, conceded first run to the winner and was never knocked about or put in the race. Showed enough to be winning off her current mark 7f-8f. Entered for next week.
10th November – 7:30 Dundalk
Freescape
Nice bounce back to form from a reduced mark. Travelled well into the race but the way the race was ran didn’t suit, with 1st and 2nd being upfront the whole race. Should be going in this winter over 1m-1m2 at Dundalk.
11th November – 7:30 Chelmsford
Billyjoh
Great run with no luck in running. Started slowly from wide draw, straight on the back foot but did move into the race very well, repeatedly no run in the straight, should have gone closer. Keep onside over 6f over the winter.
