The Neighsayers - The Weekend Ahead

Swanny takes the stage here ahead of the weekends Racing, if they manage to get any one. We should really think about racing on an artificial surface so we can race all year round. Someone should propose that. Anyway, on to the selections.

Friday

14.25 - Coral racing club handicap

A very competitive handicap this. I’d give a good word for the fav Frero Banbou who looked to be travelling all over them in the Sefton before the run eventually flattening out. The horse should come on massively from that run and he deserves to be at the top of the market. I was really keen on sail away for the Sefton and was surprised to see the horse not entered as stable tours gave the indication this was its target, maybe he had a setback or he made need the run .

However, Karl Phillipe always runs his race after a break, and I think he has a great chance here on re-appearance. After a solid 7th in the Ultima, he saw the season out by finishing midfield in the Freebooter Handicap. Back at a more favourable trip and at a track sure to suit, I think he’s a cracking ew prospect today for the inform O’brein yard and he’s my pick today at the prices.

Karl Phillipe  - 13/2 ew (coral, ladbrokes)

15.00 Coral Long Distance Hurdle (Grade 2)

Really keen on Marie’s Rock here. The mares hurdle winner was tried over the staying trip at Aintree, where an unbelievable performance again from Sire Du Berlais was all that stopped her taking that race. I think she’s classier than the field at the present time and she should take the beating.

Marie’s Rock - 5/6 (Hills, 365)

Saturday -

14.50 - Coral Gold Cup

Cracking race. My selection here is remastered for the David pipe team. Last seen on reappearance finishing 7th in a hurdles race at Aintree, to no surprise where we saw hurdles omitted. He wasn’t fully wound up that day and with the race somewhat turning into a bumper, I think he was looked after that day. I think the prices on offer are great each way value, and I can see a big run from the horse back over fences.

Selection - Remastered 18/1 ew (William hill)

Doncaster

12.21 - Download the ATR App Novices Hurdle

No early prices available here but Personal Ambition looked a comfortable winner against a promising Henderson recruit in Jingko Blue at Warwick. Not much catches my eye in this field and I expect the horse to defy a penalty and make it 2/2 over hurdles.

Selection - Personal Ambition

Let’s hope we get racing and good luck with your own selections.
