The Neighsayers - Saturday 8th July

A typically busy Saturday's racing, which can be hard enough as it is, never mind with uncertain weather thrown into the equation. However, we deal with the cards we're dealt and hopefully they're drawn favourably. Here are our NAP's for this weekend's racing and hopefully, they can be better than previous weekend's.

17:12 Beverley - Mascani - Weatherbys Bloodstock Pro Handicap (15/8) (@swan1_oliver)

My weekend NAP is the Grant Tuer trained MASCANI. This horse has been tried in his maidens over shorter trips that it’s pedigree suggests would suit and a step up and handicap debut to 1m 2 seems to be great placing by the trainer.

The best of his work has been late in runs, and I think this trip will be the making of the horse. The booking of Benoit De La Sayette is also eye-catching.

3:00 Sandown - Stenton Glider - Coral Distaff (11/4) (@racing_lew)

I don’t think this is the strongest listed race we’ll see and I think 11/4 is on the bigger side of where she should be. STENTON GLIDER was impressive as she finished 2nd in Fred Darling on reappearance.

The English 1000 guineas she ran no sort of race, as did many of their male counter-part that weekend so a line can be drawn swiftly through it.

She ran in the German equivalent on much quicker ground and she really showed her true ability. She got better the further she went and stayed on through the line impressively. I think that run can be given a serious mark up too as she was drawn wide and travelled wide all the way round giving lengths to the winner all the way round.

In this field I think there’s much of a muchness and nothing bar Magical Sunset who could trouble her. This is a very confident selection from me and one I’ll be watching with anticipation.

14:05 Haydock - Banderas - Bet365 Handicap (10/1 E/W) (@elliotwhite5)

My nap this week will be familiar to followers, Quinny's horse to follow BANDERAS. Since getting beat at short odds on seasonal debut (form has been franked by the first and second)he travelled like a dream in a Newbury maiden before getting chinned late.

He then got off the mark at Chester’s May meeting showing some battling qualities to grind out the win. The step up in trip to 1m6f he gets now looking like it will suit as well as the fact he’ll get to run in a decent sized field for the first time which will definitely be to his benefit.

He has handled the cut in the cut in the ground no problem in his last 2 starts and with Haydock potentially getting up to 23mm on Saturday morning he could yet again have the same conditions. If the rain does materialise I can definitely see the market latching on to him and going off shorter than the current 10/1 available. At this price he is a solid each way bet for me.

Good luck if you're following and with your own selections too. Be lucky.
