The Neighsayers - Antepost Angle
Antepost Angle
Yorkshire Oaks 1m4f G1
After Soul Sister being beaten in tonight’s Grand Prix de Paris i believe I have found the best antepost price currently available for the rest of the flat season.
The bet is EMILY UPJOHN to win the Yorkshire Oaks. This has to be the logical target now given that she now looks to be confirmed as the number one middle distance filly at Clarehaven. Although she ran a belter in defeat to Paddington I think they’ll being going straight back up in trip to a race Gosden won twice in recent years with the best filly of all time (Enable).
My main concern was Soul Sister going for the race but I’m not sure the 12f is her optimum trip despite being an Oaks winner. But now I see Emily coming here most definitely, as she goes on any ground so there’s no worries on that front. There is a chance she could run in the King George in 2 weeks but I wouldn’t be fussed either way if she ran or not to affect her chances on the Knavesmire. I see her going off odds on here so the 3/1 available is a couple of places is a serious bet.
Selection - Emily Upjohn

Juddmonte International 1m2f G1
The next selection is far less certain to turn up at York next month but at the prices I can’t let him go unbacked, King of Steel currently a general 8/1 shot for the Juddmonte International in what doesn’t currently look a vintage renewal.
I thought in both his starts this season he’s shown a real turn of foot and 10f will be right up his street (How far would he have won the Dante by the way). As far as I’m aware the King George will be the plan but there is sufficient time between races for him to take in both and I imagine they will want a g1 over 10f on his CV for his stallion career.
The main appeal in his price is the lack of confirmed opposition here. Mostadaf being the 3/1 fav is terrible in my opinion I could not have him at all and wouldn’t read into that Royal Ascot win (apologies Quinny). The ones I worry about here are Paddington and Desert Crown but neither are certain to turn up and even if both ran King of Steel would never be an 8/1 poke. Smaller Bet for me at this price due to the uncertainty of him turning up.
Selection - King of Steel
8/1 General
