The Neighsayers - Weekly Eye-Catchers 5th - 11th June 2023
Weekly Eyecatchers 5th – 11th June 2023
6th June – Leicester 2:30
Diddy Man
Nice run for a mark here, travelled well for a long way , horses came to him and jockey has let him fall back through the pack without any real effort to give him a ride. Showed enough in all 3 runs to suggest he has a decent level of ability. Look to back him in Nursery’s.
6th June – Wetherby 6:45
Ninety Nine
Nicely bred type, out of a smart sprinter. Travelled well in rear, made nice headway through horses when short of room on rails, wasn’t knocked about subsequently, ran very well. Look to back throughout the season over 5-6f.
8th June – Chelmsford 8:50
Exigency
Keen but led, set fast pace, going easily but didn’t get home over 7f, was running on empty final 100yards. Cheekpeices and prominent tactics have seemed to perk this one up and I will be looking to back him over 6f next time out.
9th June – Thirsk 4:40
Stalingrad
Drawn low here what would have been a big disadvantage. Took medicine and dropped in, travelling well behind horses, no run whatsoever, switched wide on wrong side of track very late ran on under tender handling. Look to back over 5-6f NTO
9th June – Fairyhouse 6:30
Mary Makebelieve
Nice not off here on 2nd run in quick succession. Slow away held up out the back, travelling okay but never really asked for full effort. One more run for a mark, presume that will come sooner rather than later. Then we look to back in handicaps down the line. Looks to have a decent enough middle distance pedigree so would be able to pick up races in the future.
10th June – Beverley 2:05
Callinassa
Outran her massive 100/1 odds in the Hilary Needler. Held up last on rails, went for brave route and got the door shut on him, no clear run whatsoever. Jockey then didn’t knock him about. Was withdrawn at the start in good race at York and even her showing up in this suggests they think she’s above average. Look to back NTO in maidens or novices (providing the races arnt too hot)
10th June – Chepstow 7:30
Red Alert
Nice bounce back to form here, ran on well from off the pace with the 1st and 2nd being prominent throughout the race. He is now 8lb lower than his last winning mark, looks prepped for a win or two round Brighton in August/September time. Is entered at Brighton this week, I will be betting him.
11th June – Beverley 4:15
Carolina Reaper
Slow away from bad draw, outpaced an green early, 10l off the leaders with impossible task on. Didn’t handle the bend but put in very good late work once understanding what the jockey wanted him to do. 8f + on a more conventional track would suit this one. Will progress with racing.
