The Neighsayers - Weekly Eye-Catchers 15th -21st May 2023
Weekly Eye-Catcher’s 15th – 21st May 2023
16th May - 4:50 Catterick
Prince Achille
Well enough backed giving the makeup of this runner, 0 from 15 but showed abit at Catterick to suggest his first win is just round the corner. Traveling very well when no clear run, gaps came too late ran on under hand riding. Should be going close in low grade 12f handicaps. Runs on Monday 22nd
17th May – 2:05 Chepstow
Vidi Vici
Missed break, green in rear, didn’t really know how to race properly early but got the hang of things late ran on under hands and heels, looks a good bet in maidens at your lesser tracks.
17th May – 2:25 Beverley
Sherrifs Call
Swerved start badly right, recovered into rear of mid div, travelling well when jockey seemed to lose irons when challenging, then wasn’t knocked about at all. Will be a nice price in maidens NTO, back over 5 or 6f.
17th May – 3:00 Beverley
Heart Of Sofia
Missed start, outpaced for 4f always off the bridle, ran on very strongly final furlong to get 4th. Was money around for it at decent prices so must be able to pick up small races at your northern tracks over 6f.
17th May – 5:40 Sandown
Say Hello
Serious eyecatcher this, had to weave in and out of horses late when coming with a rattle, don’t think the jockey got properly stuck into him on debut but did very decent backend sectionals under hands and heels. Back next time in maiden, has serious ability.
18th May – 2:25 York
Soldiers Minute
Switched from far side draw to the standside, no luck in running pushed out under hands and heels, will go close in 6f handicaps granted better luck in running.
18th May – 8:10 Bath
Raincloud
Ran well on handicap debut but could have won granted a clearer run, travelled strongly but shuffled back at crucial time of race, came with late run but winner had flown. Look to back in 10f+ handicaps.
19th May - 8:40 Newmarket
Mine That Ship
Very well backed overnight, desperately weak throughout the day, probably suggest the plug was pulled, the ride he got backed that up. Restrained, held up in rear, going well but never knocked about. Pushed along but with minimal assistance, ran on through beaten horses. Follow NTO, strong money late would be significant.
20th May – 4:40 Leopardstown
Spanish Flame
Biggest Eye-Catcher of the week.Snatched back start, in rear, travelled well, held together for too long round bend, asked to go and showed a nice turn of foot up the rails. Switched right for clear run, fast finishing 4th under hands and heels. Serious run and will be nailed on for a maiden/novice NTO. Group performer in time.
