The Neighsayers - Weekly Eye-Catchers 24th - 30th April 2023

Weekly Eye-Catchers 24th – 30th April 2023

26th April – 3:25 Catterick

Clear White Light

Very well backed from big prices into single figures, never picked up the bridle for the whole trip, stayed on very well from miles back, maybe some headgear to spark him up. Will be looking to back him next time over 1m4f+.

26th April – 5:40 Lingfield

Inverlochy

Slow away veered violently right, held up, travelled strongly, ridden for luck, and stayed on very well into a never nearer 4th. Keen to have onside NTO

27th April – 1:50 Beverley

Hooray For Hazel

Fine stamp of a 2yo, looked very green with awkward head carriage early, outpaced over 5f but ran on nicely under tender handling. Will have come on massively for his debut, looks a horse to follow when stepping up in trip

27th April - 8:00 Chelmsford

Protest Rally

Dwelt start, keen in midfield, short of room, snatched back, made decent headway while still green, should come on for his first run back for 210 days, handicap mark next, be interested off marks 62 or lower.

29th April - 3:45 Haydock

Montassib

Very well backed, ran well from miles off the pace, caught well too far back in the run. Maybe being prepped for a big heritage handicap over 7f. keep onside.

29th April - 9:00 Wolverhampton

Mudlahhim

Ran a much-improved race after running keenly over a trip what may be slightly too far for him. Dropped stones in the weights and looks ready to strike when the toungestrap is applied. Back over 7f-1m on AW, bigger bet with toungestrap on.

30th April - 4:35 Wetherby

Star Of Aria

Biggest Eye-Catcher of the week for me, missed the break badly, trailed 10l but wasn’t rushed up back into contention. Pushed along around 3f but wasn’t fully asked to go, responded very well late and started to run on past others, jockey still didn’t pick up his whip and was very easy on him. Ran on into 2nd what was very impressive, step up to 6f looks the obvious play for next time.

30th April - 6:15 Musselburgh

Gioia Cieca

Tardy start, niggled along early in rear, slightly tapped for toe early, picked bridle up travelling well enough, not clear run-on rail, ran on into moderate 4th from an unpromising position. Looks well handicapped on old form, Hes ready to strike over 7f.
